Kieth Bowers

This fall's lecture series “The Expanded Field” is hosted and organized by Professor Karen M'Closkey. Karen has invited Kieth Bowers, FASLA, PLA, to begin the series with his talk “Restoring the Future, ...as if Nature Matters”. 

As the founder, former president and current Practice Leader and Advocate of Biohabitats, Keith has pioneered the practice of nature-based design, green infrastructure, and regenerative design within the landscape architecture community. As a multidisciplinary organization with a mission to Restore the Earth and Inspire Ecological Stewardship, Biohabitats practices at the crossroads between biodiversity conservation, climate adaptation, environmental justice and water conservation.  Keith’s relentless advocacy for wild nature led him to place Biohabitats into a perpetual purpose trust, with Nature as its only shareholder.  As a trust owned company, Biohabitats is B-Corp and JUST certified.  Keith actively volunteers and supports organizations that do critical work in ecological restoration, rewilding, and the conservation of critical habitat.   

Keith currently serves as an Advisory Board member for the University of Pennsylvania’s Ian L. McHarg Center.  He is a Fellow of the American Society of Landscape Architects and a Professional Landscape Architect.
